My sd cards gone mad....

I was downloading a few videos and I suddenly realized afterwards that It said that I used up a lot of data, when I hadn't used nearly half. Suddenly,a lot of my photo's kb sizes increased....like a photo being 234kb became 68.8kb!
I tried deleting the photos, then reuploading their earlier smaller versions from facebook onto the phone, but it didn't change anything.
And its not all the photos that were doubled, just most of them. I deleted the videos, but it didn't change anything either. I also have this undeleteable 'drop box' photo in my gallery from last month. I've been thinking of formatting my crappy SD card, but I have a lot of data on it I want to save to my phone.now I can't even open my photos. Is there any way to fix this? Or an app that will copy my data, and restore it once I format my card?

How to disable calendar notifications for a specific account?

Hello,

I use my phone to with two calendar accounts, one google-account for private and one outlook exchange account for company. I want both to sync so that I can watch the calendar (that works). I want my private account to notify me of calendar events (that works). But I do NOT want my company account to notify me of calendar events, because there are so many meetings, that its like SPAM (and I am already reminded by my laptop at work).

So: Can I turn off the notifications for a specific account?

I already googled and I am afraid this is not possible. But maybe someone has an idea.
To clarify:
- no I do not want to change the notifications on the appointments, because I do want to be reminded at work
- no I do not want to disable the synchronisation for the company account, because I do want to be able to look at my calendar if I please

It is easily possible to disable the mail notification for the company account only, but it seems not to be possible for calendar notifications?

Thank you

Need to disable call out and SMS

For calls, you can accomplish what you're looking for by using Fixed Dialing Numbers (FDN). This is a whitelist of sorts that is stored on the SIM card itself. FDN restricts all outgoing calls to specified, pre-approved phone numbers/contacts, but has no effect on incoming calls or outgoing calls to emergency numbers. To set up FDN on most Android phones, go into the Dialer (Phone app) > Settings > Fixed Dialing Numbers. You'll need to set up a PIN in order to configure the settings.

Here's more information:

As for SMS restrictions, that isn't quite as simple. You can consider a third-party text messaging app from the Play Store; there may be one which allows for similar PIN or contact-based restrictions. Either way, you'll want to hide the stock messaging application by going into Settings > Apps > All > [Stock SMS App] > Disable. This will hide it from the homescreen and app drawer.

Though I don't know the details of your situation, and I don't presume to know what the best course of action for you is, I would be cautious with trying to disable calling/texting functionality altogether. Leaving emergency number support intact is always a good idea.

How to Eject my Samsung S3 from my Mac? It's connected to Android File Transfer?

Unplug it?

Don't mean to sound snarky or anything, but if it is not showing up in finder, the Mac does not even know the S3 is alive, so to say.

If there is no file transfer in progress, there should be no concern for corruption on the phone, so unplugging it should do it.

I have read that there are some hoops to jump through just to get the Macs to recognize Samsung devices lately anyways.

Probably a quiet protest from Apple due to litigation in progress.

Can you install Android Apps on your external MicroSD card? (Android noob here)

Google took the ability to store apps on the sd card out of android in their honeycomb os and has not looked back since.

There are ways around this, but they all pretty much require you to root the device at a minimum to "unlock" it.

From there it is just a matter of which way to accomplish it. There are some roms floating around that could restore the ability of app2sd functionality, as well as some tweaks that will swap the sd card with internal storage so you can utilize up to 64gb sd cards on most devices.

I do not have the links, but others here do. Quick searches may find them or someone may come along and post them for you.

There is also another site, xdadevelopers.com, that may be of some assistance as well.
